Projects

Flagpole Garden
Our club designed, plants and maintains the flagpole area located in front of the Pembroke Library. During the early Spring, member volunteer to help clean up the area after the winter. In late May or early June, members volunteer once again to help plant the flagpole area. During the late Spring, the entire Summer and into the Fall, each member volunteers to weed, water, deadhead, and perform any maintenance required to keep the flagpole area looking its best at all times.

Traffic Island, Route 14 & 36
The garden club in conjunction with the Fred B. Church American Legion Post 143 maintains three barrels on two traffic islands at the intersection of Routes 14 and 36 in Pembroke.  These plantings are dedicated to a patriotic theme of red, white and blue.

Pembroke Food Pantry
Each November, members very generously donate food that is presented to the Pembroke Food Pantry.

Pembroke Children's Library
Each December, members of the club make a monetary donation to the Children’s Library at the Pembroke Public Library.  This donation is given for the purchase of children’s books and allows the club to be actively involved in our town’s welfare.
