May Meeting 2009
Our speaker at the May meeting was Sue Kaplan, NGC Master Flower Show Judge, and Floral Designer, She demonstrated making several designs. Upon conclusion, all the designs were raffled and all who won were extremely pleased.

On May 18, Kevinette Considine and other members went to the Golden Living Center in Plymouth to visit the residents and help them with making small floral arrangements for their rooms.
June 6, 2009 - Club members, along with the Boy Scouts and members of Kiwanis planted the beds at the Plymouth Library, as part of the Club's Civic Beautification Program. Kramer, the club's mascot, was there for moral support.

< The Plymouth Garden Club was given a grant from Entergy Pilgrim Station for $1,350 for the club's Jr. Gardeners program.

February 10, 2010 Garden Therapy Members went to Life Care Center to help the residents with making small flower arrangements. They were very pleased with their results.

In the fall, the club members and helpers planted 1000 daffodils in the beds of the Plymouth Library. It was well worth the effort, after seeing the fruits of their labor.

Boston, March 2010 Geri Williams won an HM in her Class * - A Kitchen Garden, A Small Design. Geri also on 3 Blue Ribbons in the Horticulture Divsion
Joanne Nikitas won the blue ribbon as well as the National Garden Club Award and the Preservation Society of Newport County Award.

Coletta Candini won her first Blue Ribbon in a Federated flower show. The entry was for Section C Garden Whimsy, Class 7A - A Luncheon Table for One.
June Aronson won 2nd Place with a 90+ for her Section B Class 4 - A Tropical Garden - A Horizontal Creative Mass Design. Second Place with a 90+ is equivalent to a blue ribbon. June also won 4 Blue Ribbons in the Horticulture Class.

At our April, 2009 meeting, the members were treated to a presentation of the Museum of Fine Arts' Art in Bloom Road Show. Barbara Compton, a member of the MFA Associates and Senior Associates, is also a guide to the Museum's permanent collection, and a former member of the Executive Board of the Senior Associates as Roadshow Chairman. She is also a member of the Scituate Garden Club. Marisa McCoy is a MFA Senior Associate and a nationally accredited Master flower show judge who has frequently exhibited her designs at the MFA Art in Bloom. She is a professional lecturer and designer and has her own company, Marisa, Designs of Distinction in Wellesley, MA. She is an active member of two garden clubs. Barbara gave a PowerPoint presentation of the flower designs that have interpreted artifacts and paintings over the years. Marisa explained how interpretation is decided, and completed a design using an example of a Chardin (1699-1779) poster of an actual painting that was at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1979.

In December 2008, members volunteered to make the exterior decorations for the Plymouth Public Library. Other members made wreaths, boxwood trees, seasonal arrangements and greens to sell at the Mayflower House - for the Christmas on North Street House Tour.

The Annual Christmas Luncheon was held on December 10, 2008. Members enjoyed good food, good company and an auction of various beautiful seasonal arrangements made by our very talented members.
The November meeting was a workshop for members to make trees and wreaths for the Plimoth Plantation "Friends of the Cranberry Hospice".
< At the November meeting Coletta made a Thanksgiving wreath, which was raffled and won by Peachie Hanson.
September 2008, The club participated in Art In Bloom at The Plymouth Art Guild's annual art show. Members entered a design interpreting selective Art entries.
